Why is my handpiece water spray weak or not working?

Short answer: poor water spray is most often caused by clogged spray ports in the handpiece head, a blocked or worn coupler O-ring, or low water settings on the delivery unit. Without adequate coolant, the tooth and the turbine can overheat.

What to check

Try another handpiece on the same line to isolate the unit, check coupler O-rings, and clear spray ports with the manufacturer's cleaning wire. Persistent problems need professional service.
